Registration and enrollment

If you are zoned for Davidsen Middle School by address, your student will be automatically enrolled. If you are not zoned for Davidsen, please see the information below. 

Athletics and playing on a team

Students who wish to participate in team sports (Basketball, Volleyball, Flag Football, Track, Soccer)
must complete athletic clearance before trying out for any team.

2023-24 SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS*

The supplies below have been requested for all grades by core classes: Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Teachers will give more specific directions at Open House and the first days of school. These are the most common items that will be requested:  Please have requested supplies by  August 14th. 

One Pencil Pouch 

One weekly school planner: The Davidsen school planner (agenda book) will be sold
at open house for $5

Twelve (12) 2 pocket folders with prongs

six (6) Spiral notebooks

MATH SUPPLIES
6th grade math: One 4 function calculator and two 9x12 spiral notebooks 

7th and 8th grade math: TI-30Xa Scientific Calculator and two 9x12 spiral notebooks 

Other supplies to have all year: 
Pencils, colored pencils, crayons, pens (black, blue, one other color), highlighters (blue, green, yellow), glue sticks, a ruler, scissors, hand-held pencil sharpener with cover, erasers, loose-leaf wide ruled notebook paper, graph paper, and a refillable water bottle.

*Individual teachers may request additional supplies.

Arts & Electives

6th Graders will try out electives such as band, art, and Spanish during the first semester and will choose their favorite for the second semester. Learn more about the Arts and electives available at DMS.  6th Graders who would like to enroll in dance instead of pe should fill out the 6th grade dance interest form

UNIFORMS

Davidsen is a uniformed campus. Our uniform policy promotes equality and improves focus. We thank you for your partnership in maintaining the DMS Dress for Success Uniform Policy:

Monday-Thursday
Students wear a collared polo shirt in Navy Blue, Gray, or Black, Monday through Thursday.

Davidsen logo tops may be purchased during 6th grade camp or at the Open House. Plain/solid Polo style shirts in grey, navy, or black may be purchased at Target, Walmart, or any department store. 

Spirit Fridays
Students may wear any DMS Spirit shirt (retired/discontinued items also welcome) on Fridays. On the First Friday of each month, students are encouraged to wear college-themed t-shirts. The top participating homerooms in "College T-shirt Day" win a small prize each month.

All Week
Bottoms: Solid Khaki/Tan or Navy blue pants/denim/jeans. Shorts, and uniform style pleated skirts at least fingertip length in navy or khaki are also approved. Clothing with tears above the knee shall not be worn.
Shoes: No slippers or wheeled shoes.
Hats: Hats should not be worn unless required for religious observance or health reasons.

Outerwear (optional every day)
Non-hooded sweaters, sweatshirts, cardigans etc should be plain Navy, Black, or Gray only, and have no graphics or logos other than the Davidsen Spirit design.


PE Uniforms will be worn during PE class and may be purchased at Open House or during the first weeks of school.

Open House August 8, 2023 3-6pm
​Meet teachers and staff, and receive your student's schedule, purchase Dragon Gear Uniform and Spirit Shirts, p.e. uniforms, learn about athletics, and more at the DMS Open House.

SUMMER 2023

6th Grade Bridge Camp (register by July 24)
​July 26-27, 2023 8am-12pm

Incoming sixth graders are encouraged to attend this two day camp to be best prepared for the transition into middle school. Students will enjoy campus tours, meet teachers and peers, play team building activities, and learn about Davidsen Middle School. Parents and guardians are invited to stop in to say hello and purchase spirit shirts, and the 2023-24 Davidsen Handbook. Please note, this orientation camp is for incoming 6th grade students only, and Bridge Camp attendees must have their own transportation. Questions about Bridge Camp may be directed to Mrs. Brandi Kane

Do you want to dance? The Davidsen Dance department has important information for incoming 6th Graders, as dance will not be offered to all 6th graders during the wheel. Please fill out the form below if you have a 6th grade student who is interested in Davidsen's Dance program.
